COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A Colorado Springs woman has filed a civil lawsuit against the city, Police Chief Pete Carey, and Officer Tyler Walker.

Alexis Acker says Walker used excessive force during an arrest in 2013.

Surveillance video shows walker escorting Acker to Memorial Hospital for evaluation. He is then seen throwing the handcuffed Acker to the ground. Acker suffered injuries to her mouth, face, and head.

Police say she was intoxicated and allegedly kicked Walker in the groin.

A dollar amount isn’t named in the lawsuit.  However, a notice of claim asks for $500,000.
