AUDIO: Police release 911 calls from Halloween shooting spree

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – More than 10 minutes passed between the time a woman first called 911 to report a man with a rifle on her Colorado Springs street and her second call reporting he had shot a bicyclist to death.

During the first call, she ended that call apologizing for bothering the police.

Recordings show officers had been dispatched, but did not arrive in time to save Iraq war veteran Andrew Myers. He was the first of three people killed during a Saturday morning rampage.

The gunman, Noah Harpham, died in a gun battle with police. Dispatchers initially prioritized the call as a burglary, but officers were tied up on other cases.

Police said the call was handled appropriately.
