UPDATE: A man who was shot by Colorado Springs Police Tuesday has been identified as 63-year-old Dana Ott.
He confronted officers with a rifle on Lanagan Street, near Flying W Ranch Road. Ott remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The two officers involved are on routine administrative leave as the shooting is investigated by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. Colorado Springs Police do not have body cameras, and neither of the vehicles in Tuesday’s incident had dash cams.
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – An investigation is underway into a shooting involving Colorado Springs police.
A man, who was armed with a rifle, was shot Tuesday evening on Lanagan Street, near Flying W Ranch Road. He’s hospitalized in unknown condition.
The officers involved are on routine administrative leave. No one else was hurt.
