DENVER, CO – A 28-year-old man was shot and killed after an hours-long negotiation with Denver Police late Sunday night.
Officers were called to South Alcott Street after shots had been fired at a home after a family disturbance. The suspect, who also had a felony robbery warrant, had injured himself during the disturbance. Police negotiated with the man for several hours, before a SWAT team entered the residence. Gunfire was exchanged, and the suspect was hit.
No officers were injured. Two swat officers who fired shots were placed on paid administrative leave.
