COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A teenage boy was arrested Tuesday after he posted messages on social media threatening at least one local school. It was similar to a national trend of people posing as “clowns” threatening to terrorize schools.

The Gazette reports, the 15-year-old is a student at Rampart High School. Charges include interference with an educational institution. Police determined the posts were not credible. Authorities are not releasing the content of the message, where it was posted, or what school was affected.

Similar threats were also reported at Harrison and Sierra High Schools and Carmel and Panorama Middle Schools.

There were also reports of clowns seen near Fountain Middle School.
