COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Colorado Department of Transportation’s Bustang service is testing Broncos fan shuttles from Fort Collins and Colorado Springs to Mile High stadium in Denver.

Sunday was the first of two test runs and the seats, sold out. The $30 round trip ride takes away the stress of game day, no searching and paying for parking, and a much safer ride for fans trying to enjoy all of the days festivities.

Fans that filled the bus from Colorado Springs see it as a great idea. “The convenience, not having to drive, and you get to park right at the front you don’t have to walk,” said Mitch Taylor.

A Bustang route from Fort Collins and another from Colorado Springs make a few stops to pick up fans, and get them to Mile high about 90 minutes before kickoff. “We drove up from Pueblo and got to the parking lot about an hour before the bus did, we started our tailgate there,” Gary Myers.

The tailgating continues all the way to Denver

“There’s a bathroom if you needed it, wifi on the bus, what better stuff could you get,” said Pattie Benger.

There have been safety issues with drivers leaving the stadium drunk trying to make the drives North of Denver or back to Colorado Springs, but fans can now enjoy themselves without worrying about a ride home.

“I don’t have to worry about if I want to have a few beers, I can drink what I want and still know that I’m going to get home safely,” said Benger.

There will be another shuttle October 30th for the game against San Diego. If those shuttles sell out as well, CDOT will look at continuing the service.

Pattie Benger last went to a Broncos game 16 years ago, and is looking forward to an easier way to enjoy games more often. “This has got to be at least once a year, but I’m going to find a way to be here every year and hopefully the Bustang will get me here every time,” said Benger.
