Colorado Springs Police were forced to kill a man last night after he allegedly shot at officers

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Colorado Springs Police were forced to kill a man last night after he allegedly shot at officers.

Around 5 PM, authorities went to a home near Fillmore and Hancock to arrest a male accused of felony domestic violence.

The suspect sped off in a van with officers in pursuit.  Near Templeton Gap and Fillmore, the driver abandoned the van, went into a home, and stole the occupant’s vehicle at gunpoint.

Police forced the car to stop at Circle and Palmer Park.  That’s when the male allegedly fired at officers, damaging a law enforcement vehicle.

Authorities returned fire, striking the suspect, who died at a hospital. The deceased man will be identified after an autopsy is completed.
