COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Doherty High students will enjoy another spring break because the school will be closed all of next week. District 11 officials say there are ventilation issues in the building and that the air ducts need to be cleaned and tested. On Thursday, two separate incidents at the school caused smoke to spread throughout the building. The district says closing the school is the best option to ensure the student and staff’s safety. Administrators will meet Monday to discuss how this will affect the rest of the school year.
