COLORADO SPRINGS – Frontier Airlines is launching 3 new non-stop flights from the Colorado Springs airport to Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

While the first flight departed Sunday, an official ribbon cutting will be held today.

Mayor John Suthers will speak at 11am, and the first arriving flight from Chicago gets in at 12:30.

But get ready for longer security lines as the TSA tests tighter security methods.

Colorado Springs is one of 10 airports around the country that will be taking a closer look at your carry-on luggage, so you may want to arrive earlier.
