As wildfires continue to scorch the western part of the United States, they are now getting more help from Colorado Springs.

The 302nd airlift wing has sent another firefighting plane to help battle the more than 1.4 million acres that are burning in California, Oregon, and Montana.

According to The Gazette, the first plane from the Springs has been helping since late July.

The latest aircraft left with its crew from Peterson on Wednesday and joined in the battle yesterday.
