City Council has approved emergency funds for the repair of the Colorado Springs Airport

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – City Council has approved emergency funds for the repair of the Colorado Springs Airport.

$5 million in emergency funds were approved on Tuesday to go to the airport after a fire last week.

This just until insurance claim money is paid out.

The fire last week caused extensive water and smoke damage and airport officials are saying that the cost to get the airport up and running is just an estimate.

Airport officials say the cost will not be passed on to springs residents.

The airport is not funded by taxes.
