El Paso County is relaxing its code provisions to help victims of the Carson-Midway and 117-fires.

The Board of Commissioners approved the provisions to help citizens get back on their feet by waiving all permitting fees to replace destroyed houses and outbuildings.

Craig Dossey with Planning and Community Development says this is an effort to help the people build safer homes.

The county did something similar after the Black-Forest Fire and will do the same for any destructive fires that flare up this upcoming year.
