Colorado Springs city leaders are trying to get a better handle on the homeless issue

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Colorado Springs city leaders are trying to get a better handle on the homeless issue.

They have introduced a program and a website called HelpCOS.org.

It’s designed to accept donations from citizens who want to contribute to homeless services around the area.

Many panhandlers ask for donations at intersections, and city officials believe, rather than the public giving money to those individuals, a donation to this website will have a more impactful and long term benefit.

The site also details other ways to help those in need.
