The person of interest in a fatal shooting in southeastern Colorado Springs Friday evening is now behind bars.
It happened just west of Hancock expressway and Milton E. Proby Parkway.
Police received reports of an active shooter around 6pm. After they arrived the incident was downgraded, since one female was found dead from a gunshot wound.
Law enforcement throughout the state were searching for 46-year-old Mark Peters, he was considered armed and dangerous. Peters was eventually located but details on his arrest haven’t been released.
