Stanton Road near the University of Colorado Colorado Springs has been used as a shortcut by students for years.
But now, the road is only accessible to residents and emergency personnel.
The City of Colorado Springs is building a computerized gate on Stanton Road in the Eagle Rock neighborhood.
As the campus has continued to expand, traffic has significantly increased on this street.
Another problem is speeding. the gate will be completed by the end of this week.
UCCS is also working to build a connector road from the north Nevada campus to the main campus.
