Springs Man Saves Two From Car Fire

Colorado State Patrol Officials are calling Richard Krochta a hero.

Krochta works for Savage Services in the springs. He was driving west on Highway 24 in Teller County early this morning when he saw a car on fire off the road.

Krotcha grabbed a fire extinguisher, and saw two people in the vehicle. He pulled both to safety.

The state patrol says both victims suffered serious injuries and would not have escaped the car without the aid of Krotcha.

An investigation showed the driver of the vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.
