Pikes Peak Visits Hits New Record

We’ve hit a milestone in Colorado Springs. For the first time, a record number of people have traveled to the top of America’s mountain.

So far this year, at total of 527,696 visitors have taken the highway to the top of Pikes Peak.

Manager Jack Glavan equates the increase to the steady growth in the Springs in recent years and the closure of the cog railway.

A shuttle service began in June due to the construction at the Pikes Peak summit complex, hundreds of visitors have made it to the top that way.
