Changes are coming to the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon.
Organizers are moving the dates of the events back one week to August 24th and 25th in 2019.
Reasons for the move include conflicts with a popular race in Leadville which was held on the same weekend, and a chance of getting better weather for the races.
Organizers say it should be a little easier and less expensive for competitors to get hotel rooms as the local tourist season winds down in Colorado Springs at that time.
