Air Force Academy Will Enforce Department of Defense Ban on Transgenders

The Air Force Academy will begin to comply with a new order from the Department of Defense that bans transgender individuals from serving in the military.

President Trump announced the edict in 2017 and it’s been subject to numerous lawsuits. Last week the Department of Defense said the order was clear of lawsuits and needs to be followed.

The Academy has allowed transgender individuals into the school since 2016.

The Academy says in a statement transgender people may serve in their biological sex as long as they are meeting all standards associated with their biological sex.

Individuals with a history of gender dysphoria are disqualified in most cases.
