Flags Lowered in Honor of Trooper William Moden

Flags across Colorado are lowered in honor of a state trooper who died after being struck by a car on Interstate 70 Friday night.

37-year-old trooper William Moden was outside his patrol car assisting with a serious injury crash when he was hit by another vehicle between Peoria and Deer Trail.

People are paying tribute to Moden by leaving flowers on his patrol vehicle parked outside his office in Commerce City.

He’s the second Colorado State Trooper to be hit and killed by a car this year. Funeral arrangements are still pending.

The state patrol has not released any information on the driver who crashed into Moden or the details of the crash.

More information is expected to be released in the next few days.
