The mother of a five-year-old boy is filing a lawsuit against a Colorado Springs school that wants to expel him.
Rocky Mountain Classical Academy is in the process of expelling the unidentified student because he refused to stop wearing an earring to school.
The academy says the jewelry is a violation of the school’s dress code and that only girls can wear earrings to school.
The attorney hired by the family says the policy discriminates against male students.
The family hopes the lawsuit will lead to a reversal of the expulsion.
