The Taliban has released a man from Pueblo who had been held for more than a year in Afghanistan. Dennis Coyle had been detained by Taliban officials in January of 2025 for violating several laws. The Taliban said the release of Coyle was the result of humanitarian sympathy and goodwill. The United Arab Emirates and Qatar helped to broker Coyle’s release. It’s unknown why Coyle was in the country. He was released in the capital of Kabul and immediately boarded a plane out of the country.
