CNN reported that the coastal storm was already producing dangerous surf and flooding concerns as it gathered strength offshore. Strong northeasterly winds have been pushing Atlantic water toward the coast, increasing the threat of flooding, beach erosion, and hazardous conditions through multiple high-tide cycles.

The storm is expected to bring heavy rain and powerful wind gusts to parts of the Northeast, including areas around New York City and southern New England. Coastal communities face the greatest risks, while strong winds could also bring down trees and contribute to power outages.

The timing makes the system unusual. Nor’easters are more commonly associated with the colder months, making a significant September storm noteworthy.

Some people think faster starts means coming out of the gates throwing the ball. Ehh, not quite. It simply means for the offense get those chains moving and get some first downs. Even if you don’t score on the drive, creating some offense helps you get settled into the game quicker. For the defense, getting off the field faster is akin to a quick start. Limiting an offense to 3 and out, or forcing them to punt after a multi play drive is the meaning of a quick start.

The Falcons have only played 2 games, so it’s natural to still have some questions about this team. Air Force has to be Air Force Saturday night against Nevada. North Dakota State did to Air Force what the Falcons do to everyone else, long drives, play keep away, and play with the lead. It’s imperative the Falcons do that Saturday.

2 PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED BY POLICE FOLLOWING AN INVESTIGATION INTO STOLEN UHAUL TRUCKS AND THE ATTEMPTED THEFTS OF A-T-M MACHINES AROUND THE AREA. THE FIRST TRY WAS AN A-T-M MACHINE AT A STORE IN FLORISSANT. THE CROOK DIDN’T GET THE MACHINE, AND HE CRASHED THE UHAUL TRYING TO ESCAPE THE TELLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT. HE WOULD ESCAPE ON FOOT. THAT WAS IN JULY. IN AUGUST ANOTHER UHAUL THEFT AND ATTEMPTED A-T-M THEFT ON CENTENNIAL BOULEVARD. POLICE WERE SEARCH FOR 42 YEAR OLD JAMES GARCIA. THEY TOOK HIM INTO CUSTODY THIS WEEK ALONG WITH HIS 39 YEAR OLD GIRLSFRIEND SUSANNA WACHEL. A SEARCH OF GARCIAS HOME TURNED UP EVIDENCE LINKING HIM TO THE CRIME. GARCIA HAS A LONG CRIMINAL HISTORY OF CONVICTIONS FOR BURGLARIES.

Car meets, illegal street racing and illegal activity Sunday nights at Memorial Park are forcing city officials to close the park at 7pm, two hours earlier than usual. Springs police are trying to deter street racing and other activities. They received a lot of calls for service in the park during the summer for those activities, which includes illegal drug use.  City workers say people are also leaving trash and debris during these car meets as well. City officials say park hours will remain normal on other days.
