One person died Thursday night following a motorcycle accident on I-25. A cyclist crashed between Cimarron and Tejon. Police say the cyclist was heading northbound and failed to negotiate a turn. The driver hit the center median and then went into the southbound lanes of the interstate. That cyclist died at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s department says one of their deputies was arrested Tuesday. Deputies were called to a business on Fountain Mesa road. They were told a man entered that business and touched a female inappropriately then left the store. The suspect was identified as 34 year old Christopher Ramirez, a deputy for El Paso County. Deputies picked up Ramirez and took him into custody. He is now out on bond. Ramirez has been placed on administrative leave. He has worked for the department since 2024.

The 4^th Judicial District Attorney’s office has determined a shooting by 2 Colorado Springs police officers in a February incident was justified. Officers Daniel Mork and Steven Milbert saw a person who matched the description of a murder suspect. They followed him into a building. The officers learned the murder suspect they sought had already been captured. They still wanted to talk with the man who was acting suspiciously, identified as Michael Foster as he left the building. Foster ran from police, pulled a gun and exchanged gunfire with one of the officers, wounding him. The second officer took him to the ground and shot Foster fearful he would try and take the officers’ weapon. The officer who was shot recovered. Foster, the suspect is facing attempted 2nd murder and 14 other charges.
