CSPD investigates deadly overnight accident

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Police say a speeding and impaired driver caused a deadly car accident in Colorado Springs.

It happened Wednesday night on North Chelton, just north of Maizleland.

A car driven by 45-year-old Christopher Roseboom hit a tree. An unrestrained male passenger died at the scene. Roseboom and another passenger were seriously hurt.

Roseboom ran from the scene, but was found hours later. He’s facing charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, hit-and-run, and DUI.

The name of the victim will be released later today.
