Governor Jared Polis has declared May 15th Kenrick Castillo Day.
Kendrick lost his life when he helped stop a suspect in the STEM School Highlands Ranch Shooting on May 7th.
Kendrick volunteered with his father at the Knights of Columbus in southwest Denver.
The organization is posthumously making Kendrick a member.

Kendrick Castillo was laid to rest Wednesday.
