Proposed Colorado Bill Would Ban Drivers From Using Cell Phones

Colorado lawmakers are once again looking at banning drivers from using hand held cell phones in their car.

The proposal has failed three times before.

The latest bill would make the first offense a $50 fine.

For the second offense it’s will be a $100 fine.

Every fine after that will be $200.

Under the bill, which is similar to the 2019 version, adults would no longer be permitted to use cell phones, except if they use a hands-free accessory.

There are also several exemptions.
