What started out as a shots fired call, turned into a murder-suicide involving two teenagers near the Ray Nixon Power Plant near I-25 south of Fountain on Tuesday night.
Douglas County Sheriff’s officials are working with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office on this case.
The names of those involved have not been released.
Teen suicide in Colorado has risen nearly 60% in the last three years according to the United Health Foundation.
That’s the fastest rate in the nation.
