Bill Extending Coverage for Emergency Dispatchers Moves Through Colorado Senate

A bill to extend worker’s compensation coverage to emergency dispatchers involved in traumatic situations may soon be on its way to the Colorado House.

The State Senate unanimously approved the measure Monday during an initial vote.

A second vote is required before the bill can be moved to the house.

The bill extends coverage currently offered to first responders to dispatchers and would allow them to receive medical treatment and counseling for traumatic events they are part of while on duty.
