Teller County gets variance but with a catch

Teller County has received approval from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for a variance to open gyms, movie theatres and places of worship. The county had also asked to open bars and casinos. But the state said no to that specific request. Teller County has had only 16 confirmed cases of covid-19 and has an incident rate of 8 cases per 100 thousand residents.  The county must practice social distancing guidelines. In re-opening gyms the state says group classes are not allowed, sports courts shall remain closed as will locker rooms, saunas and indoor and outdoor pools.  In its letter to county commissioners the state says guidance will be issued soon on the opening of bars and casinos.
