Colorado Springs has different view of Incline than Manitou Springs

After Manitou Springs city officials showed support for a reservation system to manage use of the Manitou Incline, and suggested a possible user fee for hikers, the city of Colorado Springs has come out with a number of concerns. The city said in a statement Wednesday using a reservation system goes beyond the scope of health and safety issues related to Covid-19. And springs city officials say charging a fee for hikers to use the incline would involve a public input process which would include the U.S Forest Service, the city of Colorado Springs, and Springs Utilities. Those 3 entities own the incline. Manitou Springs manages the tourist attraction.
