The Colorado Springs Utilities Board says it will make changes to the Martin Drake Power Plant as early as 2023. The commission pledged Friday morning to shut down coal fired generators that make up part of the plant and replace them with small natural gas generators. The board also agreed to focus on more renewable energy in the coming years.
