Hours long standoff ends in southeast Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS – It took 7 hours of negotiations, but a standoff came to a peaceful end in the Cimarron Hills neighborhood late Sunday night. El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Mohican Drive at about 4:00 p.m. for some kind of domestic violence problem. When they arrived, a man barricaded himself inside the home.

At about 11:00 p.m., the man finally surrendered to deputies without any further incident. It’s unknown what charges the man faces and his name has not been released by the sheriff’s office yet.
