PUEBLO – A woman is dead and an investigation is taking place in Pueblo this morning after an officer-involved shooting. Police were contacted about a home invasion in the 2000 block of west 15th street. When police arrived, they found an elderly man inside the home and everyone else was able to get out safely.
The woman was not in the house when they arrived, but they quickly found her. She was told to drop her weapon and she failed to do so. Three officers fired shots and she was pronounced dead on the scene. The officers involved are being placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
The shooting is being investigated by the 10th Judicial District Critical Incident Team
