The search continues for a missing Colorado Springs hiker

ALAMOSA – The search for a missing 61-year-old Colorado Springs hiker near South Zapata Lake Trail in the Sangre de Cristo mountains continues. The Alamosa County Sheriff says Joy Cipoletti was last heard from when she summited Ellingwood Point and called her daughter last Saturday.

Authorities were able to locate an area where the woman’s cell phone last pinged, but they were unable to find her. Search teams from Costilla and Huerfano county are assisting in rescue efforts. Cipoletti’s car was also found at the trailhead in the area.

She was last known to be wearing a light purple or green jacket and may be wearing a white hat. she is described as 5’3”, 140 pounds with curly brown/grey hair.
