Crews make great progress in the Bear Creek Fire

COLORADO SPRINGS – Swirling winds made batteling the Bear Creek Fire difficult. The blaze started Thursday morning on the southwest side of the city. The fire came close to homes in the area, however, thanks to the quick work of fire crews no structures were damaged and there were no injuries reported. Evacuees were sent to Cheyenne Mountain High School. According to CSFD, aerial support helped crews gain control of the fire. Meanwhile, the Pathfinder fire burning in Teller County was contained within a few hours only burning 2 to 3 acres.
