Standoff ends in Security-Widefield

EL PASO COUNTY – A standoff is over and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office lifted a shelter-in-place order Thursday night for a neighborhood in Security-Widefield. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a home in the 100 block of Cornell Street at about 5:45 p.m. after reports of gunfire.

The suspect was finally taken into custody just before 9:00 p.m. The Sheriff’s Office says they will provide more information on the situation on Friday.
