COLORADO SPRINGS — An investigation is underway after a deadly crash involving a motorcycle Tuesday morning. It happened at Academy and Maizeland on the east side of the city. Authorities say the driver of a car and the motorcyclist were heading south when the car hit the motorcyclist, and he was thrown off his bike. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. This is the second fatal accident at this location in the past 7 days. Last week a pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing the street.
