Accused murderer Barry Morphew out on bail

CHAFFEE COUNTY– We’re learning new details about the arrest affidavit released for Barry Morphew Monday. He’s the man accused of the disappearance and presumed death of his wife Suzanne in May of 2020. The document chronicles the couple’s personal life leading up to Suzanne’s disappearance. It reveals she took definite steps to separate from her husband and communicated her intentions to friends and family. The affidavit also includes detailed notes and recordings of abuse Suzanne kept on her phone and a text she sent to her husband saying she was done with the relationship. on Mother’s Day 2020, Suzanne went on a bike ride and never returned home. on Friday, a judge ruled the prosecution presented reasonable belief that Barry committed the murder. meanwhile, Monday Morphew was released on 500-thousand dollars bond. he’s required to pay for and wear an ankle monitor. The judge also ordered that he remain in Chaffee County and not with his daughters in Gunnison County.
