CSPD officers involved in a shooting on October 7th are identified

COLORADO SPRINGS – We now know the names of the four Colorado Springs Police Department Detectives involved in a shooting on Oct. 7. After the officers contacted a vehicle believed to be involved with multiple area bank robberies, the suspect, Chris Bayless, opened fire. Both he and the officers exchanged shots, and Bayless suffered life-threatening injuries before being taken to jail. The four officers are Sgt. Matt McLain, officers Anthony Carey, Alejandra Exley, and Grant Nelson, all members of the CSPD robbery unit. The investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
