Stauch Will Be in Court This Month

An El Paso County woman accused of killing her stepson will be back in court later this month. A mental health evaluation has been completed on Letecia Stauch, 39, and now the case can move forward. Stauch’s case has been in limbo for months while the court waited for the results of that evaluation. She changed her plea to not guilty by reason of insanity back in February — which requires a mental health report. A backlog of evaluations in Colorado slowed down the timeline of the court case.  Officials received her sanity report on August 4th, and a conference on the case will take place before the end of the month. She’s been ordered to appear in person. Stauch is accused of killing her 11-year-old stepson, Gannon, at their home in January 2020. His remains were found in Florida two months after he disappeared.
