Rye Grass Fire 85% Contained This Morning

In KVOR’s Wildfire Watch, all mandatory evacuations have been lifted on the “Old San Isabel” fire. This grass fire broke out yesterday, near Rye – to the southwest of Pueblo. Containment stands at 85% as of 5:56 a.m., and the fire has burned roughly 127 acres. An outbuilding fell to the flames, according to fire crews. Heavy smoke and flames could be seen along Highway 165. There is still a prevacation order in place for Table Mountain Road. Crews worked overnight, and watched for flare-ups. No injuries have been reported. The highway is still open this morning. Crews plan to reassess the scene later today.
