An investigation is underway in Commerce City after a child was struck and killed in a parking lot this morning. Authorities say it happened in the 7700 block of Highway 2. Early reports indicate a truck was in the parking lot when the child was struck, however, the Commerce City Police Department’s crash reconstruction team is still investigating. So far, they believe speed was not a factor in the accident. No word on whether the driver of the truck will face charges.
