Middle School Student Could Face Charges After Allegedly Brining a Gun to School

A MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT COULD FACE CHARGES AFTER ALLEGEDLY BRINGING A GUN TO SCHOOL. LAST THURSDAY, EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES WERE CALLED TO MIAMI-YODER MIDDLE SCHOOL IN RUSH, AFTER THE STUDENT WAS DETAINED BY SCHOOL SECURITY. OFFICIALS SAY A GUN WAS FOUND IN THEIR BACKPACK.  ANOTHER STUDENT SAID THE 12-YEAR-OLD SHOWED THEM THE GUN WHILE RIDING THE BUS THE DAY PRIOR. THE GUN WASN’T LOADED AND THE SUSPECT WAS RELEASED AND COULD FACE MULTIPLE CHARGES INCLUDING UNLAWFULLY CARRYING A WEAPON ON SCHOOL GROUNDS AND ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A HANDGUN BY A JUVENILE.
