Monday in an Alamosa courtroom a status conference for Barry Morphew. He is being held on a charge of first degree murder for the death of his wife Suzanne. She disappeared from her home outside Salida in 2020. Morphew was arrested but then the charges were dropped without prejudice. Suzanne Morphew’s remains were found in Saguache County 2 years ago. A grand jury found enough evidence to recommend first degree murder charges against Barry, who was arrested earlier this year in Arizona. Morphew’s lawyer will be asking the court to reduce his bond from 3 million down to 5 hundred thousand dollars. Prosecutors believe Barry Morphew is a flight risk.
