Safeway has announced they are closing ten stores in Colorado this fall. Two of those stores are in Colorado Springs, at 5060 N. Academy and 1425 S. Murray. They will also close their stores in La Junta, Lamar, Fort Collins and Loveland. A statement released says the company is closing stores as part of a strategic consolidation. Safeway is merging two divisions, the Intermountain and Denver divisions into the Mountain West Division. The stores will be closing on or before November 7th.
