A small plane made an emergency landing Wednesday morning shortly after taking off from the Colorado Springs Airport. The pilot made a distress call after learning the plane had no lift. He landed on Powers Boulevard near Barnes. There were 3 people on board. No one was injured. The plane was leaking fluid. The Springs fire department’s hazmat team came in and cleaned that up. That plane will remain just off Powers until the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration can examine the craft.
