The son of Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell has been charged with driving under the influence. Chase Mikesell, who is a deputy with Teller County was involved in an accident on Highway 24 this summer. He allegedly rear ended a vehicle. Mikesell has been charged with DUI, driving a vehicle with excessive alcohol content, careless driving and possession of a weapon while intoxicated. All the charges Mikesell is facing are misdemeanors. The sheriff’s department says Mikesell is not facing any disciplinary action at the moment. He was off duty when the accident happened.
