The Gazette is reporting some 100 faculty members who were placed on furlough during the government shutdown have been brought back to work. Most are civilian instructors who were granted an exemption by the Secretary of the Air Force. Those instructors were a part of some 178 civilian workers asked to return to the school. Classes have continued at the academy with instructors taking on larger class sizes. However, like all government employees they will not be paid until the shutdown is over.
