Another delay in court proceedings for Lacy Tillet, the woman accused of starting the Highland Lakes fire in Teller County in 2024. She is accused of felony arson. Her home caught fire and it spread outside of the property, eventually burning 166 acres in Teller County and causing some 700 homes to be evacuated. Yesterday she was to enter a plea, but her lawyers said they want more time to study evidence. Prosecutors said she set her home on fire. Her mental competency has been called into question, although she was found competent to stand trial. Her home was in foreclosure at the time and was going to be sold two days after the fire erupted.
