More evacuations in parts of southwestern Colorado as rain continues to fall, the remnants of a tropical storm. It started raining late last week. The weather let up Sunday but more rain fell Monday and is expected to continue today. Rivers and creeks in southwestern Colorado have reached flood stage. Earlier reports suggested some 400 homes were evacuated because of the weather in La Plata and Archuleta counties. More homes along the San Juan and Blanco rivers were evacuated yesterday in anticipation of heavy rain Monday night. Homeowners in and around the town of Vallecito were also forced to leave because of the weather. Flood warnings for much of Archuleta county are in effect until 3 Wednesday afternoon.
